The present work comes from Donglai Meng's latest series, “No One Cares", where her infamous hairy-legged creatures go on an adventure on earth. To determine their destination, the artist randomly pins a location on Google Map, then paints according to the street wiews generated by Google. The places selected by the artists are usually ordinary - people could pass by the streets every day without particular reasons for visiting. In other words, they represent an “everyday-ness”. However, the virtual street views are practically virtual and most of them were snapped on a moving camera from years ago, making the imageries lagged in time. Even though one can visit the exact location (reflected in the title), they would not be able to see the same flower, or car, or surroundings. The coordinates of this work are located in Chile.
