In the autumn of 2020, Daan Zuijderwijk embarked on a creative journey that led him to the highlands of Carrara, Italy—renowned worldwide for its luminous white marble. Inspired by the timeless beauty and centuries-old mining heritage of the mountains, Zuijderwijk accessed the quarries at night and captured the a series of imageries using colored lighting. The present work comes from the famed Carrara series and embodies Zuijderwijk’s unique ability to reveal the mystic essence of nature transformed by human touch, yet leaving no traces afterwards. The special limited edition of 15 is available exclusively at Curated by. Each edition is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity, signed and numbered by the artist.
