The present work comes from Donglai Meng's newest series of painting, where she depicts the story between a boy with a horse's body, and a horse with a human body. Both considered unusual in their surrounding world, the two "outsiders" seemed to have finally found their own kinds and developed a blossoming friendship. Here, Donglai Meng positions the two characters against the street view of Pijnacker, a city in South Holland, where the artist herself resides with her cousin.
