The present work comes from Donglai Meng's newest series of painting, where she depicts the story between a boy with a horse's body, and a horse with a human body. Both considered unusual in their surrounding world, the two "outsiders" seemed to have finally found their own kinds and developed a blossoming friendship. Here, the artist imagines a winterland, where the boy and the horse rest languidly in the snow in a ice-covered wonderland, with the winter sun shining on them.
